We have got a New jQuery Modal Plugin called Reveal to join our Collection of Modal Plugins. Reveal is awesome because it’s easy to implement, is cross-browser compatible with modern browsers (with some graceful degradation of course) and lightweight coming in at only 1.75KB.

Setting up Reveal modals is only three easy steps. Attach the needed files, drop in your modal markup then add an attribute to your button. Reveal is licensed to use and abuse under the MIT license.

jRating is a very flexible jQuery plugin for quickly creating an Ajaxed star rating system.

It is possible to configure every detail from" the number of the stars" to "if the stars can represent decimals or not".

There is also an option to display small or big stars and images can be changed with any other file easily.

Although the plugin can be used with any scripting language, a PHP file that handles the requests is already included in the download package.

audio.js is a drop-in javascript library that allows HTML5’s <audio> tag to be used anywhere.

It uses native <audio> where available and an invisible flash player to emulate <audio> for other browsers. It provides a consistent html player UI to all browsers which can be styled used standard css.

audio.js can only play mp3 files and can be extended in any way like playing a single file or a list of songs.

Easel JS is a Javascript library for working with the HTML5 Canvas element. The new Canvas element in HTML5 is powerful, but it can be difficult to work with. It has no internal concept of discrete display elements, so you are required to manage updates manually. The Easel Javascript library provides a full, hierarchical display list, a core interaction model, and helper classes to make working with Canvas much easier.

Easel JS was built by gskinner.com, and is released under the MIT license, which means you can use it freely for almost any purpose including commercial projects.

SlideNote is a customizable, flexible jQuery plugin that makes it easy to display sliding notifications on your website or in your web application. SlideNote offers a set of options that allow you to modify the behavior and/or content of the script. You can specify how far down the user must scroll before the notification slides into view.

SlideNote is compatible with jQuery 1.4.3 and current versions of major browsers. IE8 is the only version of Internet Explorer that is officially supported.

There are two guiding principles of the jQuery Mobile project that differentiates it from most other offerings: It’s completely built on the principle of progressive enhancement and is designed to be functional in all HTML-capable mobile browsers.

When appropriate, Trevor Davis really like the ones that add smooth scrolling and highlight the navigation depending upon which part of the page you have scrolled to. That’s why he wrote jQuery One Page Navigation Plugin.

He wanted the page to scroll smoothly when the navigation was clicked, so he used the jQuery ScrollTo plugin. He also wanted the page to automatically highlight the correct navigation section depending upon which section was scrolled to, and that was where he added some custom code.

This is called jQuery UI Notify Widget, that is similar to the Growl-like scripts we mentioned in the past, except most seem to come with an enormous footprint: 10-12k of code, X-number of images, and roughly 1000 options to support every plausible use case.

jQuery UI Notify Widget is built off the jQuery UI widget factory in approx. 100 lines of code and 100% CSS. In typical widget fashion, this implementation supports the most basic uses, but is flexible enough for more advanced cases.

Quicksand is a very functional jQuery plugin for reordering and/or filtering items with a sleek and smooth shuffling animation.

This awesome plugin simply replaces a collection of items with another and also comes with a fair few options – like setting the duration or the easing type of the animation (optionally, Easing plugin can be used for more easing types).
